Welcome to Grade 1

In our classrooms, your child will advance through the process of learning in a safe nurturing environment filled with unique motivational experiences that are developmentally appropriate to his or her individual needs.

Reading

Students will enter an exciting world of reading in 1st grade.  Developmentally, this is a big year for learners. We will assist each child in growing and developing important strategies in order to become successful readers.

Writing

1st graders participate in the writing workshop model.  They write on a variety of topics and different genres.
